Chikwanda in London to collect remains of Sata

Finance minister Alexander Chikwanda was Thursday evening scheduled to arrive in London to lead the government delegation that will take home the remains of late president Michael Sata.
And the Zambian High Commission in London has dismissed reports suggesting that it has bought tickets for 200 Zambians resident in UK to travel home for the funeral.
According to a statement by the mission in London, the reports are false as ‘the message did not orginate from the Zambia High Commission and is a fake one.’
Chikwanda was due to arrive in UK around 23 hours Zambian time. Chikwanda will join other government offiicals and family members at a Requiem Mass in London on Friday.
The chartered plane carrying the remains of Sata will depart London at 22 hours London time (midnight in Zambia) and cruise for 10 hours direct into Lusaka.
In Lusaka, Secretary to the Cabinet Roland Msiska announced that President Sata will be buried on November 11, 2014 at Embassy Park in Lusaka.
Msika said the body viewing for President Sata will commence on Sunday with funeral sermons earmarked for the Lusaka Showgrounds while traveling family friends and relatives will be accommodated at a lodge in Kabulonga.
Msiska announced that a church service will be held on Tuesday at Heroes Stadium on November 11 before the body is put to rest at Embassy Park.
