‘Chilenje charcoal market sold’

‘Chilenje charcoal market sold’

I have just left Chilenje market and what I found is very heart breaking.

The marketers who trade in charcoal (Malasha) just behind Chilenje market complained bitterly to me how the area MP hon Lubinda and are councilor have neglected them.

Can you imagine the little piece of land on which they sell their charcoal on has been sold to an “investor” meaning they will soon be asked to vacate that land.

Now these traders feed their families off that charcoal business, take children to school and so on, when they are chased where will they go surely?

Why are we taking people for granted? This must stop.

I stand with the traders of charcoal at Chilenje market.

Cutting trees for charcoal will turn land into desert. People will then have nothing to eat but charcoal.

These are the people who vote with a chitenge bribe. They’re reaping where and what they sowed. The least important person in Zambia in PF’s eyes is a Zambian.
