Chisamba hospital in maternity bed space shortage

Chisamba district hospital has only one bed space and the situation has been forcing authorities to be admitting some cases in the general female ward.

The hospital which was upgraded to a district hospital after President Sata’s haphazard declaration of Chisamba as a district is only a few kilometres from the capital city Lusaka and has a catchment of over 15,000 people.

The sad development came to light when National Pension Scheme Authority (NAPSA) board chairperson Teddy Mulonga and his team donated an assortment of goods to the hospital.

Hospital Environmentalist Shadreck Chitambo bemoaned the situation and called on government to seriously address the situation.
