CIRCUMCISION IS A DONOR MYTH TO UNSEX ZAMBIAN MEN
The promotion of circumcision by Ministry of Health is part of a merciless public misinformation campaign hatched and funded by donor countries to dismast and unsex Zambia men in the distant hope of reducing HIV/AIDS.
CIRCUMCISION HAS NO KNOWN BENEFITS.
It is in fact Genital Mutilation.
There have been a lot of public campaigns promoting circumcision as the magic bullet against HIV/AIDS in Africa yet these campaigns are not there in Western countries.
A lot of statistics are bandied around to confuse Zambians who do not read books and cross check facts. The truth is most of these figures are mere fabrications. Zambians should conduct independent research on the internet and libraries and will be shocked about the truth.
Zambia medical staff are not known for their critical analysis of strategic issues. We cannot blame them. Their job is to carry out donor tailored programmes since they come with big money. He who pays the piper dictates the tune. Ethics or no ethics, ask Bin Laden’s widow what she now thinks of Universal Immunization after it was used by the US to locate and target her husband.
THEREFORE, IF YOU DECIDE TO CIRCUMCISE YOURSELF OR YOUR SON, DO NOT DO SO BECAUSE YOU THINK THERE IS ANY MEDICAL BENEFIT.
The reasons from world acclaimed experts are below:
Medical benefits – THERE ARE NONE! Do not circumcise yourself because you think there are some medical benefits. A recent review by the American Academy of Pediatrics looked at all the data from the past decades to see if there truly were any medical benefits. Their conclusion – NO. There are no significant medical benefits that make circumcision worth doing. Here are a few benefits that we used to think were true, and now know are not.
o Cleanliness – although it is true, a circumcised penis does not collect any white stuff underneath the foreskin like an intact penis does, THIS IS NOT A MEDICAL BENEFIT.
o Decreased risk of STD’s – this was a myth that we now know is not true. The AAP determined that this benefit is so tiny; it is not worth circumcising for this reason.
o Avoiding infections in the foreskin – it is true, occasionally intact foreskins get irritated. This is easily treated with warms soaks and washing. Rarely, the irritated foreskin becomes infected. This requires antibiotics to clear up, but is easily treatable. Even if this does happen once or twice in a person’s life, it is not a reason to circumcise.
To prevent HI/AIDs we all know that what is required is behavior change, condoms, safe sex practices…
There is need to understand the true and hidden motives as to why all of a sudden there is a media shark frenzy to sell the idea of mutilating the male organ. We are told that the body is the temple of God and was made in his image. It therefore follows that God knew why he supplied as with a foreskin at birth.
Health minister Joseph Kasonde told parliament last friday that over 800,000 men in Zambia have been circumcised from 2007 when the campaign started to August 2014.
But Kasonde failed to state whether he has been circumcised as well as role model.
