Mazhandu Family Bus Services lawyer Tutwa Ngulube has opposed the decision by the Road Transport and Safety Agency – RTSA to suspend the company’s operating license.
Ngulube, the PF legs counsel and Kabwe MP told KNC radio that the decision was harsh and will consider legal option. He however referred the loss of life but argued that other operators like Power Tools were involved in fatal accidents and yet no such action was taken by RTSA.
“We regret the loss of life but to suspend and revoke would be wrong action. Recently Power Tools also were involved in an accident and people died but their license was not revoked. We will consider legs option,” said Ngulube.
But a relative of one of the victims has accused Ngulube of being insensitive to human life and was doing so for business motives because Mazhandu station is located at his Sonnets business complex in Kabwe.
“Ngulube is a dull lawyer. To begin with he is an MP and party to the laws RTSA is applying but for the live of money he wants to defend wrongs. Just because people drop there to buy food, use the toilet and now he wants human life sacrificed…” screamed the lady.
Yesterday, sources at both Mazhyandu and RTSA hinted to the Watchdog that the company will go to court if RTSA stands the decision to ban them. Its not the first time the company’s license is being suspended and shortly afterwards reinstated allegedly because of its connections to the ruling PF.
