Congo Brazzaville holds Chipolopolo

Congo Brazzaville has maintained the top spot in group E after holding Zambia to a 1-all draw in a 2017 Gabon Africa Cup of Nations qualifier played at Levy Mwanawasa stadium in Ndola this evening.
Both Zambia and Congo Brazzaville are on five points but Congo has a superior goal difference having scored 6 goals in three games while Zambia has forced three goals in the same number of games.
Zambia was first to hit the back of the net through Congo Brazzaville based striker Winstone Kalengo in the 60th minute after he negotiated past two defenders but the Congolese levelled the scores 15 minutes later.
Chipolopolo missed several chances in the first half despite former captain Christopher Katongo passing a string of good passes from the midfield.
Zambia will have to go for an outright win when they meet Congo Brazzaville in the return fixture this coming Sunday to brighten their chances of qualifying to next year’s Afcon in Gabon.
And Guinea Bissau has moved to third position on four points after beating Kenya 1-0. The Kenyans are bottom of the group on one point from three games.
