Constitutional court ends petition

The Constitutional court says it does not have the jurisdiction to hear the petition after the expiry of the 14 days.

This is the fourth time the court is changing positions but marks the end of the petition

There were five judges on the panel, three judges Mungeni Mulenga, Palani Mulonda and Annie Mwewa Sitali agreed with PF lawyers that the petition should not be heard. Two judges Munalula and Hilda Chibomba dissented and argued that the petition should be heard but were outnumbered.

Judge Chimba said “I should have allowed that the matter be heard but because majority judges carried the day’.
