Constitutional court reserves ruling on ballot custody

The Constitutional Court has reserved its ruling on an application by the UPND for the Court to take custody of election material.

This simply means the court is still digesting the application and will make the ruling another day, in this case tomorrow.

The United Party for NationalDevelopment(UPND) leader Hakainde Hichilema and his running mate Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba had applied that the Court should get custody of election material including ballot boxes for the presidential vote.

On Friday the Court directed that the concerns brought to Court about space and security by the Registrar of Courts be filed by the Attorney General.

The Attorney General this morning made the application.

The Constitutional Court has reserved the ruling to Tuesday 30th August.
