Constitutional Technical insists will only release the draft to govt and all stakeholders

The Constitutional Technical Committee on drafting the new constitution has maintained that they will only release and hand over the draft copy of the constitution simultaneously to both President Michael Sata and his government and the general public and other civil society organisations.

Technical Committee Spokesperson, Ernest Mwansa in a statement release in Lusaka maintained that they will abide by the terms of reference in drafting the constitution that requires that the draft constitution be released to both members of the general public and government simultaneously.

The firm but principled decision by the Technical Committee is contrary to the PF regime’s demands that they only release 10 copies of the draft constitution to Mr. Sata, a move that has so far riled many organisations that feel betrayed.

Mr. Mwansa has said the committee has since written to government to facilitate the printing of enough copies of the draft constitution that should be released to all stakeholders and government simultaneously.

But Kabimba recently cheated the nation that the Technical Committee will be disobeying Mr. Sata by not following his illegal orders which are outside the terms of reference.
