Convicted Musician Shares His Experience In Prison

Convicted Zambian Musician, Danny Mwikisa popularly known as Danny Peddle says it is unfortunate that a lot of people have a wrong perception about prisons and prisoners.

He says perceptions that prisoners are horrible and dangerous people are not true, saying he was well treated by prisoners while in prison.

Mr. Mwikisa says the days he spent in prisons made him realize that there is a lot that can be done to improve standards in prisons.

He was speaking to MUVI TV News in Lusaka. Mr. Mwikisa was convicted by Lusaka Resident Magistrate Mwaka Mikalile on 20th July, 2010 along side two other former employees of radio Phoenix on charges of theft involving twenty six million kwacha and jailed for four years.

He has since been released on bail pending appeal to the high court.
