Copperbelt man arrested for destroying election material

Police on the Copperbelt have arrested a man for allegedly tearing election materials  belonging to a named political party.

Copperbelt Police Commanding Officer Dr. Martin Malama confirmed that the man not only destroyed election material but also stripped off the clothes of a fellow cadre from another party after a fight.

He said the accused is currently in police custody and will appear in court soon.

Malama appealed to cadres and the public to maintain before, during, and after elections as those who will  be found wanting will be dealt with accordingly and face the wrath of the law.
