Corrupt safari owner now wants to be on Zawa board

TOURISM and Arts minister Jean Kapata is in the process of appointing a new Zambia Wildlife Authority (ZAWA) board and Eastern Safaris director Yousuf Zumla is lobbying through vice president Guy Scott to be appointed a board member, sources in the tourism sector have said.
“Zumla does not want to be left out of the board and he has been lobbying through the vice president to be includes. A number of people are lobbying Jean Kapata to be included on the board but Zumla is over doing it,” said the source.
Zumla, regarded in the Tourism industry as the chief advisor for Masebo wants to be on the board so that he could continue manipulating the happenings in ZAWA.
Zumla was been pushy over ZAWA issues and when then acting director general Zen Vlahakis was fired and Masebo dropped by President Sata, he on both occasion wept uncontrollably like a young boy.
Zumla owes the authority more than US $ 300,000 in concession fees accumulated for over ten years.
He owes the money through his other companies Anna Tree Lodge in Lower Zambezi and another Lodge called Mushika lodge also in lower Zambezi,.
Zumla owes ZAWA through among others, escort fees, variable fees, fixed fees and direct deposit invoices
