Court acquits defiler

The Nakonde Magistrate Court has acquitted a Former Head Teacher of Madwa Junior Secondary for defilement.

Mr Joseph Nguni was arrested and charged for defilement this year in January after he impregnated a 15 year old girl by the name of Esther Nakamba of Ntindi Village.

He is alleged to have master-minded the abortion of the three months pregnancy for his pupil last year and police only managed to arrest him in January this year after concluding with investigations.

The magistrate acquitted the defiler after the underage girl failed to show up in court to testify for more than 7 times. It is believed that the Headteacher and his friends played it so well to hide the young girl outside the district so that she fails to testify. A lot of money from the accused was pumped to the relatives of the young girl in order to facilitate her hiding.
Mr Nguni was suspended in January this year for having sex with underage girls at his school. At least close to 15 teachers have since been transferred from Madwa School in connection to Headteacher’s child abuses and rudeness towards DEBS officers during public examinations for 2016 .
The magistrate however warned that the Headteacher may be re-arrested should the young girl come out from hiding and report herself to the magistrate court.
