UPND lawyers have been given a court order for the Kanyama mass rally to go ahead as scheduled this Sunday 9th Sept.
The court directive to allow the UPND rally comes after an attempt by PF government through the police to stop the rally citing flimsy grounds that the police officers would be busy with the Zambia/Uganda match that takes places on tomorrow Saturday.
UPND special adviser to Hakainde Hichilema, Douglas Siakalima confirmed the development to the Watchdog this evening.
Mr. Siakalima said it was shameful for Lusaka Province police Commissioner, Solomon Jere, to claim that there would be no police officers for the UPND rally yet the same Jere says police would sort out anyone who goes to the rally.
The rally will be addressed by UPND president Hakainde Hichilema and other opposition leaders.
