Criminals strike Livingstone twice in 24 hours, this time ransacking Bureau de Change

Criminals have gotten away with stashes of different currencies after blowing two safes at Nyami Nyami Bureau de Change in 217 areas in Livingstone Tuesday night.

This came barely 24 hours after another gang of criminals shot dead two people at Zig Zag lodge in the same town which is preparing to host an international tourism meeting.

A check by Zambezi fm news this morning revealed that the criminals climbed to the roof top and cut Iron sheets to gain access into the Bureau.

Different types of currencies were found all over the floor in the bureau where they had blown off safes using explosives.

And southern province commanding officer Brenda Muntemba has confirmed the robbery to the media but declined to give further details.

Meanwhile Chief Mukuni of the Toka-leya People of Kazungula has expressed worry at the increasing crime rate in the city.

Chief Mukuni said two incidents of such nature in a space of two days is too much and affects the tourism industry.

He has since appealed to residents who are suspicious to report to police as issues of security involves everyone just like corruption requires concerted efforts.
