Civil Society for Poverty Reduction (CSPR) Acting Director Mwila Mulimu says there is need for the ruling Patriotic Front (PF) to implement policies that will allow for a proper budgeting system.
Mulimu told journalists that the next budget must be one that will enable the proper use of public resources to foster national development.
She said government should ensure the 2012 budget is responsive to the aspirations of citizens so that it can address the many challenges they face.
Mulimu noted that Zambia needs a pro poor budget that will curb poverty and bring about meaningful development that will benefit all.
She urged the PF government to implement a budget that will adequately fund key sectors of the economy such as education, health, and agriculture.
