The Electoral Commission of Zambia -ECZ- has set February 12, 2019 as the date for the Sesheke Parliamentary by election.
The commission will also conduct Seven Local Government by election in Chililabombwe, Kabwe, Lundazi, Katete, Chifunabuli Isoka and Chavuma districts.
The by-election in Sesheke has been necessitated by the death of Member of Parliament Frank Kufakwandi.
The Vacancies in the Seven Local Government by elections have come as a result of resignations and deaths of councillors.
ECZ Public Relations Manager Margaret Chimanse said aspiring candidates for the Sesheke by election should take 15 supporters who must be registered voters in the respective district or constituency.
Ms. Chimanse adds that the candidates will also be required to pay Seven Hundred and Fifty Kwacha while the Local Government by election aspirants will be required to pay Four Hundred Kwacha non-refundable.
She said candidates in the parliamentary and the local Government by-elections must also present their certified copies of their Grade 12 certificates or equivalent or higher qualification, which must be verified by the Examination Council of Zambia or the ambia Qualification Authority respectively.
