President Michael Sata has not been seen in public or heard saying anything for 40 days now. And on this 40th day of the president’s absise the Non Governmental Organization Coordinating Council (NGOCC) have appealed to him to show up somewhere where people can see him.
NGOCC says Sata should to clear all the negative speculations about him by making a public appearance.
NGOCC Board Chairperson Beatrice Grillo told Qfm news that President Sata will do the majority Zambians good by making a public appearance.
Ms Grillo says Zambians are becoming depressed for not seeing their President. She stated that President Sata should know that Zambians miss him and are eager to see him address any national event just to end speculations about him.
Ms Grillo added that Zambians are not satisfied with statements suggesting that the Head of State is well and working. She said people want to hear it from the President himself that he is well.
Sata was last seen in public on June 20, 2014 before he was evacuated to Israel for medication and remained in a coma for a number of days.
He was brought back into the country after two weeks in a vegetative condition and has since been ‘hidden’ at State House.
A few suspicious photos of him standing near a plane and sitting on what looked like a wheel chair at a hospital in South Africa were circulated two weeks ago but no member of the public saw him or heard him speak.
