The continued ill health of President Michael Sata has now even affected proper diplomatic etiquette as he is not able to receive letters of credence  from diplomats designated to Zambia.

The job to recognise diplomats to Zambia has been delegated to foreign affairs minister Harry Kalaba.

The new Chinese Ambassador to Zambia Yang Youming is one such diplomat who has been too  impatient to  wait to present credentials to Sata, should he feel better one day.

Envoy Yang Youming was instead made to present credentials to Kalaba on July 28, 2014 before starting working in Zambia.

In every country, it is the duty of the head of state to recognise ambassadors and this is often done at an official ceremony and the head of state in person receives the letters of credence from the envoy. This has always been the case even in  Zambia until Sata fell ill.

President Michael Sata has been failing to do his duties due to his critical ill-health which the government is hiding.

Sata has not been seen walking or talking in public for 51 days now. Just last Friday he failed to chair a PF central committee meeting that was called to adopt candidates for bye-elections in five constituencies.
