The Drug Enforcement Commission has arrested a business executive of Lusaka for obtaining over K300 million from Zambia Army on false pretences.
Bernadette Kaimbi Kabemba 46, obtained the money by forging documents purporting that she had supplied 10 tonnes of beans to the Army when in fact not.
Ms Kabemba using Dark Ages Enterprises, a food supplying company belonging to other people, got a total of K320 million payments which were made through the Ministry of Defence.
She becomes the second offender for the same offence as she was few years ago arrested by the Commission on similar offence of obtaining money by false pretences through fake claims of food supply to government agencies.
She has been released on bond and will appear in court soon.
This is according to DEC spokesperson John Nyawali.
