Fight ensues over RTSA CEO position
The battle for the top position at the Road Transport and Safety Agency – RTSA- has ensued with the Deputy Director Incharge of Transport Rodgers Nkandu already positioning and bribing the new Minister of Transport Mutotwe Kafwaya.
A source within the institution has also disclosed that Former board Chairperson, Webster Nonde is positioning to take over the Chief Executive Officer position at the road safety agency.
Corruption accused CEO Zindaba Soko asked for leave to pave way for investigations last week.
” You know the Agency has two deputy directors, Deputy Safety and Deputy Transport. The Acting Director is Mr. Gladwell Banda who is Deputy Director Safety but Mr. Nkandu who is deputy Transport also wants it and has been to see the new Minister of Communication and Transport Mr. Kafwaya and we hear he is showering him with gifts, “. Mr. Nonde who brought in Mr. Nkandu to the agency when he served as board chairperson also wants the job.
The source further disclosed that Mr. Nkandu is very much sure that the substantive Director Zindaba Soko will never come back.
Mr. Nkandu says it is not possible for Soko to come back saying he will be one of the state witnesses when the matter takes off in court.
