Deputy minister quits, wants bigger post

Defence Deputy Minister Davis Mwila has resigned from his Deputy Ministerial position with immediate effect.

 

Mr. Mwila who is also Chipili MP has not stated the reasons for his resignation which is a first in the PF government.

But the Watchdog is reliably imformed that Mwila is upset with president Sata for keeping him as deputy minister instead of giving him full cabinet portfolio. Mwila has told confidants that he is upset that Sata is promoting new comers to the party while long serving nembers like him ate stuck in junior positions.

Mwila is said to have been angered by the promotion of Harry Kalaba as full cabinet minister.

Mwila however publicly thanked President Michael Sata for giving him an opportunity to serve the country.

 

Mr. Mwila was first appointed Provincial Minister for Copperbelt and was later transferred to Luapula before settling down at the Ministry of Defence
