The Patriotic Front-PF government says it will continue enticing members of the opposition political parties to join the ruling party in the view of increasing numbers in Parliament.
Just recently, the PF lost three of the four by-lections they engineered.
PF Secretary General Wynter Kabimba says his party will continue supporting by-elections as they are meant to increase numbers to enable the ruling party to easily pass laws.
Speaking when he featured on the MUVI TV Assignment programme this evening, Mr Kabimba says the ruling party has decided to work on increasing numbers because some opposition MPs behave unreasonably when it comes to voting in Parliament.
Mr Kabimba who is also Justice Minister states that it is his job as the party Secretary General to entice members of the opposition to join the PF and go for by elections which he said are budgeted for in the supplementary budget.
He says he will continue doing so even if it means getting all the 150 Members of Parliament on board.
Mr Kabimba who described politics as a game of no morals also contradicted former deputy finance Minister Miles Sampa’s statement that the PF government had budgeted for four by-elections saying he cannot remember such a statement in parliament.
He also defended acting Chief Justice, judge Lombe Chibesakunda’s continued stay at the helm of the judiciary despite having been rejected by the Parliamentary select committee which he said has no powers to do so.
Mr Kabimba says Zambia as a third world country has a serious shortage of qualified and experienced judges to appoint hence falling on people like justice Chibesakunda.
He further stated that those wishing to delay the Judge Chikopa tribunal can only wish to do so as the tribunal will one day take off.
