DHL Kitwe staff down tools over low pay

DHL employees in Kitwe have downed tools, demanding a pay increase.

A check by Flava FM News at DHL Kitwe Offices found gates locked and placard stuck up reading we are closed until further notice.

Employees talked to said the strike was called after their employer failed to implement a new pay structure two weeks ago.

They complained that they have not received a pay raise for 4 years and yet they make huge profits.

The Staff who chose to remain anonymous said they spoke to DHL Country Operations and Services Manager Roy Holtzhauspn who has since promised to address them.

The employees have vowed not to resume work until their concerns are met.

And when contacted through a press query, DHL Head of Advertising and Public Relations Lee Nelson confirmed the strike action and said the company is working with employees to resolve the problem.

Nelson however says, the company is fully operational and is looking for ways to ensure minimum disruption to customer service and shipment deliveries.
