Dining with Chinese president was achievement for Lungu – Lubinda

Agriculture minister Given Lubinda says it was huge achievement for president Edgar Lungu to dine with the president of China.
He said President Lungu had made an achievement by being the first Head of State after Kenneth Kaunda to dine with the Chinese President.
“He has been President of the Republic of Zambia for a very short time, and yet ever since Kenneth Kaunda, he has been the very first to have dined with the President of China,” Lubinda said. “All the presidents after Kenneth Kaunda were hosted by [the] premier or chairman of the party. He was hosted by his counterpart, President of the largest country in the world.”

Nonsensical as this statement is, it is not even true. In fact, on February 3, 2007, Chinese President Hu Jintao visited Zambia and Levy Mwawawasa hosted hosted a banquet for him at Intercontinental hotel on February 4, 2007.

Lubinda also blamed Lungu’s predecessors for the fuel crisis saying his boss inherited the fuel crisis. Poor Michael Sata, not here to defend himself and no one speaks for him nowadays.
