Chongwe Member of Parliament Silvia Masebo escaped lynching from PF cadres after word went round that she was visiting Senior Chieftainess Nkomesha.
The PF cadres who have put up a campaign camp 200 metres from the Palace stormed the palace to physically fish out Masebo but alert police officers from Chongwe Police rescued her using the back door.
PF Chairperson in Chongwe one Mr Kachepa confirmed that the cadres attempted to physically attack Masebo and was only saved by quick police action.
Chongwe Police Chief Inspector Munsaka confirmed that police rushed to the palace to provide security to Masebo but refused to confirm whether PF cadres were involved and said Kachepa should confirm since he is the PF Chairperson in Chongwe.
Chief Inspector Munsaka said the PF cadres spotted near the palace were there because it was campaign time and claimed that the reported attack was a rumour.
