Don’t kubeba: Now even water to cost more

The National Water and Sanitation Council (NWASCO) has announced that water utility companies in the country have applied for an upward adjustment of water tariffs around the country.
National Water and Sanitation Council Public Relations Officer Rose Tembo has told Radio phoenix in a statement in Lusaka today that major utility water companies among them the Lusaka Water and Sewerage Company, Nkana Water and Sewerage. Mulonga water and Sewerage, Southern Water and Sewerage, Chambishi Water and Sewerage and Kafubu Water and Sewerage have since lodged in the application with NWASCO.
ZESCO Limited had also applied to the Energy Regulations Board for an upward tariff adjustment in electricity tariff a request that is very likely to be granted. When in opposition the ruling Patriotic Front campaigned on the promise that it will reduce tariffs.
