President Sata’s Press Aide George Chella and Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Mutembo Nchito yesterday met at the DPP’s office to scheme on how to embarrass Former President Rupiah Banda when he arrives from South Africa on Sunday. Intelligence sources have told the Zambian Watchdog that Chella and Nchito plans are that some immigration officers should grab Rupiah Banda’s Diplomatic Passport immediately he disembarks from a plane at the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport.
The source said Chella also told Nchito during the same meeting that he did not edit the letter that President Sata wrote to Minister of Home Affairs Edgar Lungu instructing him to give Rupiah Banda his passport.
” George Chella during the same meeting told Nchito that for the first time, President Sata did not ask him to edit a letter to a Minister only new about it when it was already delivered to Edgar Lungu”.
The source further discloses that George Chella and Nchito also discussed ways of putting travel restrictions on Rupiah Banda in future.
Chella drove to the DPP’s office and met Nchito at a veranda at the DPP’s office. “For those who know the DPP’s office, the Veranda talked about is the one overlooking the Ministry of Works and Supply Headquarters” the source said.
