DPP to Appeal acquittal of Charmaine Musonda
The Watchdog understands that Charmaine Musonda may heard back to jail as early as next Tuesday as the state is not convinced that she is innocent.
Charmaine was arrested and charged with his lover Keith Mukata whom she has now ditched for murdering their guard.
Mukata was sentenced to death while Charmaine was acquitted because she elected to remain silent and say nothing to all the accusations. What this means is that she did not deny killing the guard but just let the judge make his own decision based on the evidence from the police despite her not offering any defence or explaining what happened.
The court found as a matter of fact that Charmaine was at the scene of the murder so she knows the truth but decided to say nothing in court, not even in defence of her lover. She is a very reliable woman indeed.
The court did however grant the prosecutors permission to appeal.
