Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia (EFZ) has threatened to discourage Zambians from making submissions to the constitution making process.
In an interview with 5FM Radio, EFZ Executive Director Reverend Pukuta Mwanza said it is unacceptable for the committee of experts made to enact the constitution to receive new submissions from citizens.
Mwanza recommended that the committee should review all the draft constitutions and come up with a final document.
He noted that nothing new will come out of the submissions as citizens may present the same issues that were brought forth to the Constitution Review Commission (CRC).
Mwanza further charged that sidelining church mother bodies in the constitution technical committee has created imbalance, adding that his organization doubts the committee’s ability to deliver a people driven constitution.
The committee of experts which has been described as representing partisan interests is expected to finish it work in 12 months.
