The Zambia National Football team suffered a 3 -0 bashing at the hands of Egypt on Sunday evening in an international friendly played in Dubai. Egypt scored their important goals through Tereck Hamed in the third minute and Ahmed Hassan Koka added a second in the 48th minute before another goal was scored close to regulation time.
The Pharaohs are unbeaten against Zambia since 1996 when Chipolopolo beat Egypt 3-1 in an Africa Cup quarterfinal match in Bloemfontein.
Since then, Egypt have won seven of their last eight meetings.
Zambia’s best result against the record seven-time African champions was a 1-1 draw away in Cairo in a 2010 World Cup qualifier before losing 1-0 in Chililabombwe in 2009.
Zambia are using the friendly to fine-tune for their 2018 World Cup doubleheader qualifier against Sudan in November and before then, the domestic teams’ 2016 Chan qualifier against Mozambique in Ndola this Saturday.
The march was played at the Mohamed Bin Zayed stadium.
A few Zambians based in the United Arab Emirates were on hand to support the Chipolopolo.
