ERB approves power increments

As expected, the Energy Regulation Board (ERB) has rubberstamped the decision by PF through Zesco to increase electricity tariffs.

The PF through Zesco increased electricity tariffs last week but ERB went on an academic and formality exercise by pretending to be receiving submissions from
Members of the public.

But today ERB acting chairperson Francis Yamba announced that ERB has approved Zesco’s application.

This means that staring from now, you will be paying 75 per cent more on what you are currently paying for power.

That is not all, in September this year, the PF through Zesco will again increase electricity tarred by 25 per cent.
