National Milling Corporation (NMC) Managing Director Peter Cottan says the Women’s International Boxing Federation (WIBF) light welterweight fight between Zambian Women Boxing Champion Esther Phiri and Terri Blair of United States of America will be exclusive to corporate companies only.
Cottan says corporate companies and sponsors will be the only ones to watch the November 28th bout live at the Mulungushi International Conference Center (MICC)adding that other boxing fans will view it live on national television.
He said invitation letters will be delivered to various corporate companies and sponsors next week adding that the organizers are targeting about one thousand people.
He said the measure is aimed at reducing on the number of fraud cases that occured in the past bouts as there was less security at the venue.
The NMC managing director was speaking at a press briefing in Lusaka Wedesday.
Meanwhile, Cottan disclosed that the 2009 triangular cricket tournament that will take place on October 10th has a total sponsorship of 7 million kwacha coming from cooperating partners.
He has appealed to the members of public to come in numbers to watch the tournament. The contesting teams will be England, South Africa and Sri lanka.The money that will be raised from this tournament will go to the various charity organizations.
And speaking at the same occasion, Standard Chartered Bank Head of corporate Affairs, Luke Njovu said his Bank is happy to be one of the sponsors of the 2009 tournament.
