Just a few weeks after higher education minister Michael Kaingu failed to produce his grade 12 certificate, information reaching the watchdog reveals that even his deputy Sydney Mushanga may not have a certificate after all.
PF officials who are also Watchdog informers from Bwacha constituency and Kabwe district have disclosed that during the ongoing interviews for parliamentary candidates, Mushanga failed to attach the copy of the certificate.
Mushanga, the current PF MP for Bwacha constituency in Kabwe bought his way through the interviews by bribing some officials and lied that he had lost the certificate.
And some sources at the Examinations Council of Zambia (ECZ) have said that Mushanga presented his statement of results showing ‘satisfactory’ grades in only three subjects at grade twelve and claimed that he had sat for ‘0’ levels in adult education but there are no records of such.
“We have his poor grades in three subjects at grade twelve. He actually wrote his exams at Bwacha but claims that he did rewrite and improved his grades though we can’t find anything in the system,” said the ECZ source.
Under President Edgar Lungu’s failed government, Mushanga and Kaingu are in charge of running colleges and university education affairs.
