The forty families who were forcefully evicted from Chongwe’s Diamond dale area on Thursday spent Christmas Eve in the cold.

One of the affected families told MUVI TV News in a telephone interview that they have no where to go and have decided to squat near the Great East road.

Armed Police officers Thursday burnt houses and displaced about Forty Families following a court eviction order.

The officers in riot gear also slashed maize fields belonging to the affected families.

Police used tear gas canisters to evict families that were resisting.

Efforts to get a comment from Area Member of Parliament, Sylvia Masebo by Muvi TV failed.
