Evil occurrences: Scott’s convoy in accident

Part of Vice President Guy Scot’s motorcade was this morning involved in a road traffic accident in Livingstone with all the people in the vehicles escaping unhurt.

The accident happened along airport road shortly after he arrived at the Hurry Mwanga Nkumbula international airport as the motorcade was heading to Sun International Hotel.

The accident which happened near the ZNBC transmitters and opposite the Livingstone General Hospital involved three GRZ vehicles with private number plates.

Among the identified vehicles were a Toyota land cruiser registration number ALH 9163, Toyota hilux unregistered and Mitsubishi spotero registration number ABL 2467.

According to an eye witness, the accident was caused by the driver of a Toyota Ipsum which was going in the opposite direction when he decided to join the main road without waiting for the motorcade to pass.

The situation resulted into the three vehicles hitting into each other with the unregistered vehicle flying across the drainage and landed just a metre away from a tree where it could have hit.

But another witness said that the accident was caused by poor judgment by a police officer who allowed other road users to start driving off while the motorcade was still passing.

And UPND National Deputy Spokesperson Cornelius Mwetwa said the accident was a sign that even vehicles have refused to be abused by the PF government.

Mr. Mwetwa said it was a well known fact that the PF was using government vehicles to conduct their campaigns in Livingstone.

He said that UPND is aware of the PF’s abuse of government vehicles and other election malpractices.

Meanwhile UPND campaign Manager for the Livingstone by election Garry Nkombo has paid a condolences massage to the PF for the vice president’s motorcade which happened in Livingstone.

Mr. Nkombo thanked God that no one was injured during the accident but was quick to mention that evil will always follow evil.

He was speaking during a press briefing in Livingstone this morning.
