Government says it is likely to fail to meet the demand to commence the exportation of goats to Saudi Arabia.
In 2016, the Governments of Zambia and Saudi Arabia signed a memorandum of understanding for Zambia to export 1 million goats annually to that country.
But Fisheries and Livestock Minister, Professor Nkandu Luo tells Phoenix News that low production of goats emanating from fewer industry players is adversely affecting the fulfillment of the deal.
Professor Luo has since called for more players in the industry in order for Zambia to meet the agreed target with Saudi Arabia of exporting goats to that country.
