FAZ committed to ensuring Chipolopolo qualify for 2017 Afcon

Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) Executive Committee Member Blackwell Siwale who will lead the Zambia national football team to Guinea Bissau says the association is committed to seeing the team qualify for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.
Siwale spoke to fazfootball.com at Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe International Airport before departure to Johannesburg enroute to Lome.
“As FAZ we have done our part to ensure the task is achieved. We have done our part in ensuring that the players are fully motivated.
“We do not promise players anything the day before the match. We always want to do that in advance and we believe that we have done that.”
The delegation leader added that the appointment of Elijah Chikwanda and Aggrey Chiyangi was done in conjunction with head coach George Lwandamina.
“As Executive Committee we do not impose assistant coaches on the national team coach. You will appreciate that after the death of Fighton (Simukonda), Mr. Lwandamina has not been operating with a full strength technical bench.
“And because we attach so much importance to the game against Guinea Bissau, that is why we had to give him two assistants to ensure that there are no lapses.”
Before playing Guinea Bissau on June 4, Zambia is scheduled to play international friendly matches against Togo and The Gambia on May 27 and May 30 respectively.
