FAZ: Football is run from football House, not shopping mall

The Football Association of Zambia says its reconvened Annual General Meeting (AGM) scheduled for 30tth April 2011 will be conducted in accordance with stipulations of the FAZ constitution.

And FAZ says soccer in Zambia is administered at Football house not shopping mall.

FAZ commuications manager Erick Mwanza says preparations for the AGM are progressing well.

Mwanza also thanked the ‘general membership and affiliates for their tremendous show of support, solidarity and turning out in large numbers on Saturday 26th March 2011 at Mubende in Luanshya.’

Mwanza said: “the Association would like to commend those of the fewer clubs who were misled into going to the Mulungushi Conference Centre for taking time to come to the Football House and indicating their regret about the illegal Mulungushi gathering.”
He pledged that the reconvened meeting on 30th April will be successfully executed in order to achieve the goals of protecting and sustaining the development and achievements of the game into the future.

FAZ also rubbished a statement attributed to a Lwanga Mwiluin the media.
“Regarding a media article attributed to a Lwanga Mwilu and Mr Andrew Kamanga – the chairman of Kabwe Warriors Football Club relating to FIFA’s latest communication on the reconvened AGM of April 30, FAZ would like to state, once again, that the AGM at the end of the month will be in accordance with stipulations of the Constitution and conduct of such meetings.
“Football in Zambia is governed under the auspices of FAZ with Football House serving as secretariat and not any other centre or indeed shopping complex.

He reminded Mwilu and Kamanga that the administration of football in the country is run the Executive Committee headed by the soccer legend Kalusha Bwalya saying, no other body can lay claim to such.
“We would like to advise Mwilu to address herself to relevant football matters and seek advise, guidance and proper direction than to comment on matters that she may have little or no knowledge about. If she were a member of FAZ, she would understand the established rules and regulations of engaging Football House.

“If she may have any form of linkage with any of the few teams that were misled into going to Mulungushi and are yet to get back to the progressive football family, she would do well to advise the same to gather at Mulungushi University and be part of the greater football family gathering at the end of this month.

“She would also do well to comprehend that any fallacious claims of interim status by any individual or a small group of persons are not only illegal, retrogressive and non-existent but in vain and a waste of time.

“We are happy that the football family is alive to that and is united in the name of FAZ. That family is has made clear its determination to make that resolve.”
