Fear grips Livingstone as tourists lock themselves in rooms

2Panic has engulfed Livingstone town following the arrest of UPND president and some senior party leaders.

And tourist caught in the violence are panicking and locking themselves in hotel rooms waiting to leave the country when it is safe to venture out.
Armed riots police dressed in their riot gear. All the vendors in town have chased from the town centre. Shop owners have been directed to close their shops by eighteen hours and residents who usually and sometimes casually take their time to buy groceries since shops close by 20hrs, are seen panicking to stockpile commodities.
The arrest of UPND leaders and heavy presence of police has instilled fear in residents.
Residents are shocked as to what has befallen their peaceful tourism city and wondering as to whether a State of Emergence has been declared.
Police sources have disclosed that a curfew has been declared and the Command does not want to create a panic situation but already the people can see that it has been declared.
Provincial administration office has been surrounded by riot gear police.
Some police officers were seen driving in private vehicles as they carry out patrols in and around town centre.1
