PF Roan MP and minister of information Chishimba Kambwili has said that he is not sure of winning his Roan constituency seat on the PF and is now thinking of contesting the Nchanga seat currently held by Wylbur Simusa.
According to a PF insider Kambwili made the full disclosure today after attending burial for late Nchanga Rangers and Chipolopolo under 23 coach Fighton Simukonda.
“After burial he met a few of us from the constituency and district executive committees and disclosed his intentions”, said the source.
The source further added that Kambwili has blamed his dwindling popularity on President Lungu and PF’s policies and warned that very few MPs will reclaim their seats under PF ticket.
“He also told us that he was aware that most PF MPs will lose their seats on the copperbelt and are now trying to go to the constituencies in rural areas in their homes but that his home village was already under a strong PF MP who will certainly be readopted,”.
As a miner and before he became a full fledged scrap metal dealer Kambwili lived in Chingola and is banking on the old neighbourhood for his political success. That is if Lungu does not pick him as a running mate, of which it is not likely to happen.
