President Edgar Lungu has directed police to now finally arrest and charge UPND vice president Geoffrey Mwamba (GBM) and party leader Hakainde Hichilema will also soon be linked to the charge.
After hours of surrounding GBM’s premises and forcibly entering police have fished out documents which they (police) planted alleging secret meetings of the two opposition leaders planning to overthrow Lungu and his PF government.
With this development Lungu hopes the two leaders will spend their time in detention because treason is unbailable by Zambian laws. Lungu further hopes this will destabilise the UPND and allow him easy sail.
Some police officers in the scheme have disclosed that they are now on the way to pick GBM and in the coming days raid HH, other Party leaders and some journalists.
Top on the target are UPND lawyers Jack Mwiimbu and Martha Mushipe, Chongwe MP Sylvia Masebo, Post editor Fred Mmembe, ex Evelyn Hone journalism lecturer Clayson Hamasaka and some few journalists suspected to be writing for the Zambian Watchdog.
