The Patriotic Front through the highly compromised Acting Chief Justice Lombe Chibesakunda has finally managed to block Dora Siliya, Maxwell Mwale and Hastings Sililo from filing nomination papers for the September 5 by-elections.
According to Radio Phoenix main lunchtime news on Saturday August 10, the Electoral Commission of Zambia through its Acting Public Relations Manager Silvia Bwalya says they have today been served with high court election reports by Mwaka Chilombo Phiri the registrar of the high court.
Ms Bwalya is verbally quoted by Radio Phoenix saying the ECZ will not accept nomination papers from the three.
But the Watchdog is reliably informed that both the UPND and MMD have other very popular candidates who are likely to beat the PF.
The PF were hoping that by blocking Siliya and others, the MMD and UPND would have no candidates and just face ‘challenges’ from jokers like NAREP and UNIP.
When the ECZ postponed the filing in of nominations on Friday, the PF through Home Affairs minister Edgar Lungu complained bitterly after realising that the main opposition would have a chance to feature other candidates.
It is increasing becoming very hard for the ruling party to win elections due to lies, unfulfilled 2011 electoral promises, dictatorship etc.. so they are resorting to underhand methods like blocking opponents.
One of them, Lameck Mangani, who has been rejected twice is so afraid of elections that he is now banking on disgraced acting Chief Justice Lombe Chibesakunda to declare him MP for Chipata.
