Finally PF regime admits there is shortage of vaccine for infants

The PF Government has finally admitted that there is a critical shortage of Bacillus Calmette–Guérin (BCG), the vaccine for the prevention of Tuberculosis in infants.
To make matters worse, Health Minister Joseph Kasonde has even failed to state when the vaccine will be made available.
Dr. Kasonde instead said government was waiting for the United Nations International children Emergency fund-UNICEF- to respond over the crisis.
Just last week, Finance minister was busy showing his withered face on TV and boasting that his government’s dependence on donors has reduced to below five per cent.
There is a critical shortage of the vaccine and the affected health institutions include University Teaching Hospital, most hospitals on the Copperbelt, some referral centres in Livingstone and Lusaka.
