First Quantum to list on Lusaka Stock Exchange

Canada’s First Quantum Minerals will list its shares in Zambia on Wednesday, its brokers said, becoming the first miner in Africa’s top copper producer to list locally.

First Quantum’s Zambian depository receipts will available for trade on the Lusaka Stock Exchange, allowing investors in the southern African country access to the Toronto-listed company, Renaissance Capital said in a statement.

While investors are increasingly looking for opportunities in fast-growing Zambia, the country’s capital markets remain thin, with some shares on the all-share index seeing little regular trade.

First Quantum’s shares are also listed on the London Stock Exchange
