Flashback: Kambwili says Lungu is a corrupt, disaster

* But don’t worry  , he just said they are friends not enemies

This man we have in State House is a disaster to this country; he’s the worst President we’ve had, says Chishimba Kambwili.
Briefing the press at his home in Lusaka on Saturday, Kambwili also said corruption had continued in the PF government.

He said he did not want to comment on Ministry of Health’s latest acquisition of ambulances earlier thinking that President Lungu would institute investigation to ascertain how a Landcruiser ambulance could be purchased at US$ 288,000.
“These matters we are talking about seem to some other people as not being important but I can assure you that we are putting money in pockets of few individuals. For your own information, a Land cruiser hardtop from Toyota Zambia costs US$60,000. Now when you look at the things that are in that ambulance that they have bought from Savenda at US$288,000, there is only a bed, small shelf, and a bench for paramedics. If you add up the cost of those three items I have mentioned, they will not exceed US$5,000, meaning therefore that an ambulance would only cost, to the most, US$70,000, a fully equipped ambulance, a Landcruiser that is duty free because government does not pay duty,”
Kambwili said.

“Now countrymen, are we going to allow a situation where an ambulance can be purchased at US$ 288,000 and we are quiet watching?”
He said he was deliberately quiet because he wanted to see President Lungu’s reaction.
“I am convinced beyond reasonable doubt President Edgar Lungu is corrupt himself and he has no political will to fight corruption because he is corrupt Zambian number one,” Kambwili alleged.
“This is straightforward, we can go to Toyota Zambia and get a quotation and see how much we bought Landcruiser ambulances before, did they cost US$288,000? The answer is no. Why are we allowing a few individuals in government to be exaggerating costs of some of these things and pocketing the money and we are all watching? I am telling you Zambians, by the time Edgar Lungu finishes his term in 2021, Zambia will be bankrupt because it appears we Zambians are docile; we don’t want to participate in running this country.”
He said the purchase of 50 ambulances at US$288,000 each stinks corruption and urged the Anti Corruption Commission to investigate the matter.
“Please Edgar Lungu, for once act like a Head of State. Why are you failing, for Heaven’s sake, to investigate all these allegations of corruption? And when we talk, you say ‘bring evidence’. What more evidence do you want because I am giving you the evidence? The cost of an ambulance at Toyota Zambia would be roughly US$70,000 and your Ministry of Health has bought the same ambulances at US$288,000, what more evidence do you want?” the former information minister asked.
And Kambwili said it was clear that President Lungu had no favour from God to rule Zambia.
“You can see that President Lungu has lost the favour of God to rule this country,” he said.
Kambwili said President Lungu got the presidency on a silver platter following the death of Michael Sata.
He condemned the Head of State for failing to fully attend Sata’s memorial service last weekend.
Kambwili said instead of finishing the programme with all mourners and family members, going to the graveyard to lay a wreath and thereafter mingle with the family, President Lungu chose to go and watch football.
“President Lungu, stop pretending that you loved Mr Sata; actions speaker louder than words. Surely, a man who left you the presidency on a silver platter, you insult him in that manner! You come to church, instead…memorial services, everybody comes, you end the memorial by going to the house of the deceased or wherever they have held the function and have snacks. If you don’t want to have a snack, people will excuse you but obviously you go to lay a wreath on the grave of the man who gave you the presidency, but you decided to go and watch football! And the football we are talking about not Zambia vs Nigeria, not Zambia versus Cameroon, it’s Zanaco Vs Napsa, what a way of appreciating Mr Sata!”
Kambwili said.
“It is now clear, no wonder you brought all MMD to come and run PF, you did not respect Mr Sata and you have no respect for the Sata family whatsoever. Anyway, we have known this for a very long time. But where I come from we say Lesa nga alefwaya ukufumyapo umuntu pabufumu, alamulowa icilafi. Imwe ba Lungu Lesa namilowa icilafi (if God wants to remove the king, he causes them to be forgetful, so you Lungu God has caused you to be forgetful), no wonder you can go to the airport and start warning the judges. What has come in your head President Lungu? You think you will be in State House for the rest of your life? Please Lungu, our humble president, reflect on your behavior, you are an embarrassment to the Republic of Zambia.”
He advised President Lungu to try remaining quiet at the airport.
He said President Lungu’s statements at the airports were not making sense.
“My dear brother, if you are human, apologise to judges, apologise to the people of Zambia and withdraw that statement. President Lungu owes the judges an apology,” Kambwili said.
He said Zambia would never have chaos if President Lungu does not stand for elections in 2021.
“In any case, you are the worst President this country ever seen. And let me tell you if people are lying to you, if you go on the ground, you are very unpopular; you have destroyed PF because of you unreasonable rantings and actions,”
Kambwili said.
“What you said in Solwezi is unreasonable, childish and out of this world. Reflect on your statements, Zambia does not belong to you, it belongs to all Zambians but you’ve become too arrogant. Do you check what comes out of your mouth? It’s not presidential. Every time you go to the airport…I should blame his advisors, do you sit this President down and tell him ‘where we are going in Solwezi, the issues to talk about are these’? Because it appears this man just hallucinates, whatever comes to mind is what he communicates to the people of Zambia.”
He said he had told justice minister Given Lubinda to approach President Lungu to tell him that what he said about judges was senseless and he should never repeat it.
Kambwili said he was beginning to doubt whether President Lungu was a qualified lawyer.
“You have been telling HH accept defeat, accept the results, now you are telling us if the court rules against you, you are not going to accept. Hypocrisy is the worst kind of behavior that a person can live with. But anyway we know you want to live in State House in perpetuity because you know the skeletons that you have in your cupboard,” Kambwili said.
On Vice-President Inonge Wina’s statement that President Lungu merely counseled the judiciary, Kambwili told her she was now going away from the correct road.
He advised her to stop defending wrong things. “As Vice-President, we expect you to advise the President. It is in black and white that the President was warning the judges. How can the Vice-President say he is CEO, is that how you give counsel? You go in public to castigate people then you call it counsel? If the President wanted to give counsel, he should have called the Chief Justice and said please can you advise your judges to do the right thing. [But you go in public, you start warning people, then the whole of the Vice-President says ‘he was just giving counsel’. Ala you can’t defend the undefendable ba mayo. Mwalalenga abantu bamusule naimwe, twaliimucindika, nimwe ba mayo, nankoko ufukatila abana (you let people lose respect for you you, we respect you as our mother, who protects her children). Your duty is to advise the President, kabiyeni ku State House and advise; it’s either you get it or leave it. Elo batila munshebwa aile namashinsha kubuko, so ba tata aba Lungu, mwiyaluka ba munshebwa (they say a person who despises counsel went to his in-laws soiled, so dad Lungu, don’t turn into a person who despises counsel),” Kambwili said.
He told President Lungu that power was sweet but it must be checked.
He warned that the same people who were glorifying him today would insult him when he loses power.
And Kambwili said tollgates have become a nuisance and that the government had turned them into the main income source for the country.
“How can you have one tollgate at Shimabala as you leave Kafue, one at Katuba, another tollgate at Manyumbi, you have another tollgate before Ndola, you have another tollgate just after leaving Ndola at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium, another tollgate in Kitwe, you want to do another tollgate just after Kitwe, you want to do two tollgates on Solwezi road. You want to leave driving for the rich people? Between Lusaka and Ndola, we expect only one tollgate. To go to Chililabombwe you have seven tollgates! I challenge this government to tell us how much money has been collected from these tollgates. We are told money from tollgates is now used to pay civil servants salaries, that is now stealing from people of Zambia,”
Kambwili said. He said he was disappointed by President Lungu.
“I tell you, akulasanikwa (if it were revealed), I would not have campaigned for you. But anyway, I will forgive myself because in twenty fifteen I refused to support President Edgar Lungu,” he said. “…This man we have in State House is a disaster to this country. Lungu you are a disaster to this country. You actions are disastrous to this country. And I can only appeal to bamayo, bana Lungu, mulebebako ba Lungu, shikulu ifi mulechita tafiweme, echo tupila abakashi .
