British High Commissioner to Zambia James Thornton has stressed the need to ensure the rule of law prevails in Zambia.
Mr. Thornton’s call for the respect of the rule of law follows the attack by Patriotic Front (PF) government sponsired thugs on UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema’s entourage in Ndola last Saturday.
The attack by PF cadres took place in full view of Police officers who are said failed to intervene and those who tried were also beaten up. Hichilema was forced go escape through the roof of the building.
Mr. Thornton has told Qfm News that where violence takes place in the country it should be properly punished.
He said that the prevalence of the rule of law in the country should be without incidents of violence taking place.
