Former dictator KK explains his love for Sata: he is looking after me well

Former dictator Kenneth Kaunda says Zambians should support current dictator Michael Sata because Sata is a progressive and hard working leader.

And Kaunda has refuted revelations that he had re-joined active politics.

Speaking on arrival in Livingstone on Wednesday, Kaunda said there was need for the people of Zambia to give President Sata support because he meant well for the country.

Kaunda, who is currently in Livingstone on a ‘holiday’ until Sunday, was received at the airport by Southern Province permanent secretary Chileshe Mulenga, Livingstone Mayor Aggrey Njekwa, Livingstone town clerk Vivian Chikoti and Airport manager Joseph Mumbi among others.

“I have no problems in supporting President Sata because I am supporting an innocent man. President Sata is looking after me well and I urge Zambians to give him more time to lead Zambia in a good way,” he said.

He said under the leadership of Sata, Zambia would achieve great things as the country would change for the better.

Kaunda said he was happy with the hard work of  Sata whom he said had continued from where he left when he was leading the country many years ago.

On revelations that he had re-joined active politics, Kaunda claimed he retired from active politics many years ago.

He also said there was need to build the country and embrace the One Zambia One nation motto.

Kaunda claimed that when late former President Frederick Chiluba took over from him, he wanted to destroy him by even putting into prison.

“When he put me in prison, I stopped eating drinking and shaving my hair until I was forced by the former Tanzania president Julius Nyerere who also said that he would stop eating drinking shaving until I started eating drinking and shaving,” he said.

He said he fasted and shaved his hair because said he wanted to know why he was arrested and put in prison.

He remembered that after he was released from prison, he found prison officers at his home and a lot of armed police officers looking after his house for about six months.
