Former South Minister investigated for ‘impropriety’

President Michael Sata has advised former Southern Province Minister Lukolota Katombora to cooperate with law enforcement agencies investigating him.

Sata has also advised Katombora to immediately vacate office and surrender government property.

The President said it is unfortunate that Mr. KATOMBORA whose appointment as Southern Province Minister was revoked yesterday is exhibiting some strange levels of arrogance.

Sata said Katombora ‘s arrongance will not  help him because he has been disappointed just like he was appointed.

The President said he does not want to discuss the reasons for Katombora’s removal as law enforcement agencies are currently investigating him for alleged impropriety.

Sata advised the former Minister to complete all necessary exit formalities and allow for a smooth handover.

When Katomora was fired, he told Livingstone based Zambezi FM radio that he was not aware of the president’s termination of his appointment.

He said when he was appointed; he did not get the news through the media so he would wait for an official announcement to be made.
