By 17:00hrs Friday, there was still no petrol in Kabwe. These motorists parked at puma Central filling station from morning, while late coming at places of work was tolerated because there was completely no fuel hence transport hiccups.
Some of the few transporters that had fuel in their vehicles hiked the fares by about 20% to 30%. A trip that normally costs K4 from Chowa to town rose to K5 while Town to Ngungu and Bwacha rose from K2.50 to K4. The situtation is said to have been similar in many other parts of the country.
